International coalition airstrikes targeting "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) strongholds in al-Sharqat, northern Salaheddine province, killed at least 20 of the group's fighters, the Iraqi police in Salaheddine said Monday (June 13th).
"Coalition fighter jets launched airstrikes on a number of ISIL strongholds in al-Jarf and al-Sadd areas in southern and central al-Sharqat," police spokesman Hasan al-Majmaie told Al-Shorfa.
"Initial information indicates that at least 20 terrorists, including foreigners, have been killed," he said.
Various weapons and gear that were stored in the place were also destroyed in the airstrikes, he added.
