Iraqi security forces have found a car rigged with explosives in central Tikrit Sunday evening (July 15th), the Iraqi Interior Ministry said.
"The Salaheddine police seized a vehicle rigged with explosives and parked at al-Atebba, a crowded street in central Tikrit, on Sunday evening," ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan said in a brief statement.
"The police evacuated the area and then dismantled the vehicle without incident," he added.
"An extensive investigation was opened into the incident, and surveillance cameras in the street are being checked to identify those involved in the failed terrorist attempt," he said.
