Dozens of ISIS gunmen killed in coalition strikes in northwest Iraq

International coalition warplanes on Sunday (September 24th) launched several airstrikes targeting the two cities of al-Hawijah and Rawa, killing dozens of "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements, the Ministry of Defence said.

The airstrikes killed "53 terrorists and destroyed one ISIS headquarters and four arms depots," the ministry said in a statement.

"A bomb-making workshop, four containers loaded with logistical supplies, six vehicles packed with explosives, three workshops for rigging vehicles with explosives and five defensive positions were also destroyed in the airstrikes," it said.
