Iraq police nab 4 ISIS elements in Baghdad

Four "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements who were planning terror attacks in Baghdad have been arrested in a carefully-planned operation by the Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS), the Iraqi Interior Ministry said Friday (December 1st).

CTS forces "have arrested four ISIS terrorists, including Hassan al-Badri, a senior ISIS element, in two separate raids carried out simultaneously at dawn Friday," ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Diyaruna.

Two other suspects who were present at the sites were also arrested, he said.

"Weapons and explosives found in the detainees’ possession were seized in the operation," he said, noting that the group was planning attacks in Baghdad.
