70% of Anbar, Salaheddine IDPs return home

The majority of displaced residents from liberated cities in Anbar and Salaheddine provinces have returned to their homes, the Iraqi Cabinet's Secretariat said Monday (July 17th).

"More than 70% of displaced people have returned to their towns in Ramadi and Salaheddine" after they were liberated from the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS), the secretariat said in a statement.

"The government is determined to facilitate the return of all IDPs as soon as possible," it said.

The Iraqi government is keen on providing all basic services, including electricity, water, health and education, to encourage displaced families to return to their towns and villages quickly, Secretary-General Mahdi al-Allaq said.

The return of IDPs is done in co-ordination with the Ministry of Migration and Displacement, the security forces and other relevant government agencies.
