A senior "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)" leader in Diyala province has been killed in a raid in the Hodh al-Zour area, the Iraqi Interior Ministry said Monday (March 6th).
“Counter-Terrorism Agency and local police forces in Diyala province have killed Majed al-Ansari, an ISIL leader in charge of the so-called Hodh al-Zour area," ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Diyaruna.
Al-Ansari and three of his aides were killed in the ensuing clashes, he said, adding that security forces found explosives vests and explosives at the building where they were staying.
