2 senior ISIL leaders killed in Mosul air raid

International coalition airstrikes killed two senior "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) elements after targeting their position on the eastern outskirts of Mosul, the Ninawa Operations Command said Thursday (October 13th).

"Coalition fighter jets on Wednesday evening targeted an ISIL site near the cement plant in Kokajli," operations commander Nejim Edin Karim al-Jubury told Diyaruna.

Two senior ISIL elements were killed in the airstrikes, including "Aysar Marwan, who heads ISIL’s security apparatus, and Aifan Saad al-Fahdawi, who is in charge of the group's military equipment", he said.

"Six other ISIL elements were killed, and an explosives cache, weapons and four vehicles were destroyed in the airstrikes," he added.
