Iraqi air force destroys ISIL sites in al-Khalidiya Island

Iraqi aircraft destroyed several "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) sites in al-Khalidiya Island, 20 kilometres east of Ramadi, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Thursday (July 28th).

Acting on intelligence, Iraqi planes destroyed "two workshops for rigging vehicles with explosives and making improvised explosive devices (IEDs)," the ministry said in a statement obtained by Diyaruna.

The strikes, which took place in the past 48 hours, killed dozens of ISIL elements, wounding many others, and torched two vehicles packed with explosives at one of the workshops, the statement said.
