Iraqi forces nab 2 ISIS elements at Syria border

Iraqi forces arrested two "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements as they tried to infiltrate into Iraq across the Syrian border, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Thursday (May 17th).

"Acting on accurate intelligence, units of the Military Intelligence Directorate's 15th Division set up a carefully-planned ambush," ministry spokesman Gen. Yahya Rasul said in a statement.

The two men, one of whom had served in ISIS's "religious police", were apprehended as they infiltrated across the border from Tal Hamees, he said.
