All Baghdad roads to be re-opened soon: ministry

The Iraqi government has developed a plan to reopen all closed roads in the capital Baghdad, the Interior Ministry said Thursday (December 21st).

"We have drawn up an integrated plan for reopening all closed roads in Baghdad, including the main roads and bridges," ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan said in a statement.

The plan aims at easing traffic congestions and facilitating the movement of citizens after the security vulnerabilities in the capital are dealt with, he said.

Meanwhile, a plan has been put in place for combating criminal networks that engage in thefts, robberies and kidnappings in the capital, Maan added.
