A senior "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) terrorist was arrested in central Baghdad after he infiltrated the capital using a fake name, an Iraqi official said on Tuesday (August 1st).
"Joint forces have arrested Abu Baraa al-Ansari, a senior ISIS terrorist operating as part of the 'Baghdad Province'," interior ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Diyaruna.
Al-Ansari is involved in serious terrorist operations and was likely trying to enter the capital to carry out other terrorist plans, he said.
"He was transferred to a security detention facility before being referred to court where he will face several terrorism-related charges," he said.
