Ten members of the same family were killed or wounded when a suicide bomber took refuge from the police in their home in western Anbar, the Anbar police said Wednesday (June 7th).
"A suicide bomber was spotted in Heet last night and was chased by the police. However, he entered a house and hid there," Anbar police chief Maj. Gen. Hadi Kassar Erzaij told Diyaruna.
"When the police tried to arrest him, he blew himself up, killing six members of the same family," he said, including the father, mother, grandmother and three children.
Four other family members who were in an adjacent room were "seriously wounded", the police chief said, adding that they are currently receiving treatment at a specialised hospital.
