Iraqi forces launched a new military operation to retake three areas controlled by the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) in western Anbar, the Ministry of Defence said Wednesday (September 28th).
"The army, supported by tribesmen and international coalition fighter jets, launched an attack on al-Dulab, al-Safakiya and eastern Jubbah which are controlled by ISIL," ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasul told Diyaruna.
"Our forces are making major progress and ISIL is retreating under the force of the airstrikes and our intensive fire," he said.
