Iraqi forces thwarted four suicide attacks targeting the capital Baghdad, the Joint Iraqi Operations Command said Thursday (July 28th).
“The military intelligence directorate carried out a carefully-planned preemptive operation and thwarted four suicide attacks involving explosives vests planned to be carried out in Baghdad,” the command said in a brief statement aired by state-run TV.
The suicide bombers were arrested, the statement said, and that “operations are underway to raid the other targets and rest houses that have been recently discovered".
