Bomb workshop seized in western Mosul

A large "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) workshop for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and explosives was found in western Mosul, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Wednesday (December 20th).

The army has uncovered an ISIS bomb-making workshop in al-Saad neighbourhood, the ministry said in a statement.

"The workshop contains a number of machines and tools for making explosives, as well as several containers of bicarbonate sodium, urea, and poisonous liquid materials used in making IEDs," the statement said.

"The discovery was based on the monitoring of ISIS remnants to dry up their sources of armament and seize their weapons caches and bomb-making workshops," it said.
