A joint police and Counter-Terrorism Service force has arrested two "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements hiding in a house near al-Hawijah, the Iraqi Interior Ministry said Friday (November 3rd).
Security forces "have identified two ISIS terrorists who have been hiding at a house for weeks following the liberation of al-Hawijah", ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Diyaruna.
The two were planning to escape from the city, he said.
"Two weapons and some ammunition have been seized in the operation," he said, adding that the detainees were taken to a security detention facility for interrogation.
