The Iraqi police has busted a criminal ring specialising in kidnappings and armed robberies in Baghdad, the Interior Ministry said on Friday (September 15th).
A joint effort by the police and intelligence agency led to arresting the members of the ring in an ambush in al-Mansour, west of Baghdad, ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Diyaruna.
"The ring consists of six members, including a woman," he said, noting that a woman from Basra whom the ring had kidnapped to extort her family for money was freed in the operation.
