Security forces manning a checkpoint near the city of Fallujah in Anbar province thwarted a suicide attack that was targeting their location, the Iraqi police in Anbar said on Friday (June 2nd).
Iraqi forces opened fire on a truck speeding towards a checkpoint east of Fallujah where dozens of citizens were gathered, Anbar police chief Maj. Gen. Hadi Kassar Erzaij told Diyaruna.
"The vehicle was blown up before it could reach its target," he said, adding that it caused no casualties or losses.
