The UN-funded rehabilitation of the Fallujah water project, which will provide drinking water to more than 60% of the city’s neighbourhoods, is now complete, Anbar governor Sohaib al-Rawi said on Thursday (June 1st).
"The project, which was reopened today, had been destroyed during the rein of the 'Islamic State of Iraq and Syria' [ISIS] of the city," al-Rawi told Diyaruna on the sidelines of the launching ceremony.
The six-month-long rehabilitation work cost about $2 million, funded by the UN, he said.
