Abu Ghraib blast kills 3, wounds 8

Three Iraqis were killed and eight were wounded Monday (July 11th) when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in Abu Ghraib, Iraqi police said.

“An IED exploded Monday morning near shops in Abu Ghraib, west of Baghdad, killing three and wounding eight others,” Lt. Col. Anwar Hussein of Abu Ghraib police told Al-Shorfa.

Security forces rushed to the scene and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the bodies to the forensic department, Hussein said.

The security forces have launched a raid in search of the perpetrators, he said.
