Iraqi forces bust ISIS cell in east Mosul

Iraqi forces have arrested four "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements in eastern Mosul, including one who served in the so-called "properties office", the Interior Ministry said Monday (October 15th).

Intelligence tip-offs and continuous monitoring have led to the arrest of four ISIS elements forming one cell, ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Saad Maan said.

One of the detainees served in ISIS's "properties office", Maan said, noting that his main duty was to prepare lists of security personnel and families who fled from Mosul and seize their houses in order to hand them over to ISIS elements when they controlled the city.

"Another detainee served at the zakat office, while the other two were fighters in the so-called 'soldiers’ office' and took part in battles against our security forces in the Mosul liberation battles," he said.

"They were arrested in Aden neighbourhood in eastern Mosul," he noted.
