Iraqi forces destroy ISIS hideouts in Salaheddine

Iraqi forces have destroyed two "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) safe houses and six tunnels in Salaheddine province, the Ministry of Defence said Wednesday (May 23rd).

Salaheddine Operations Command forces carried out a search operation from two pivots, ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasul said in a statement.

One search began near the Makhul presidential palace and continued towards al-Fateha, and the other was conducted along the Tigris River towards al-Fateham, he said.

“Two safe houses and six tunnels used by ISIS gangs were destroyed in the operation,” Rasul said.
