Police in Abu Ghraib seized an explosives vest and arrested three terror suspects in an operation in Zawba village, west of Abu Ghraib, the police said Wednesday (January 17th).
"Security forces carried out a large-scale campaign aimed at securing the borders of Abu Ghraib with Fallujah," Col. Hussein Mohammed Wadi told Diyaruna.
"During the operation, they seized an explosives vest, mortars and a Katyusha rocket," he said. "They also arrested three wanted terrorists for whom arrest warrants had been issued a year ago."
One of the detainees is involved in attacking trucks and Iraqi forces convoys on the International Highway west of Baghdad, he said.
