An Iraqi airstrike has killed 10 "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements in an area between Diyala and Salaheddine provinces, the Ministry of Defence’s Tigris Operations Command said Friday (December 15th).
“The Iraqi air force has destroyed an ISIS position in al-Mayta area between the borders of Diyala and Salaheddine provinces,” Tigris Operations Commander Lt. Gen. Mazhar al-Azzawi told Diyaruna.
Large quantities of weapons and explosives were destroyed in the airstrike, which is part of an ongoing operation to clear the desert and farmlands in that area of remaining pockets of ISIS fighters, he said.
