Joint Iraqi forces on Monday (September 4th) thwarted an "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) plot to target a cafe in the Salaheddine province city of Balad, the interior ministry said Tuesday.
“A joint police-army force on Monday night thwarted a major ISIS plot targeting a café in Balad using four suicide bombers who infiltrated the orchards south of the city in an attempt to target civilians,” ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Diyaruna.
“After two hours of clashes with the terrorists, they were all killed, while our forces sustained no losses,” Maan said.
