The Iraqi police in Diyala announced on Monday (April 16th) that 20 terror plots have been thwarted in the province in the first quarter of 2018.
Between January and March, the Diyala police "have thwarted 20 terror plots, including some still in their execution phase, in various areas across the province, including Baqubah", Diyala police spokesman Col. Ghaleb al-Attiya said.
"Some of the plots targeted officials and civilians," he said, noting that "the intelligence effort and locals’ co-operation were key in thwarting those plans".
