Iraqi forces crack down on ISIS cells in Diyala

A military operation to crack down on "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) pockets and sleeper cells in Diyala kicked off this week, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Monday (June 5th).

Joint forces "have launched a large-scale operation to crack down on terrorist cells and pockets in al-Hadid, al-Ossoud, al-Hadeed orchards, al-Amlak neighbourhood and al-Kasasba," the ministry said in a statement.

The operation is aimed at "arresting terrorists and destroying their hideouts", the statement said.
