Iraqi federal police forces arrested on Monday (September 26th) a senior "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) leader north of the capital Baghdad, the police command said Tuesday.
"Following continuous monitoring and surveillance, federal police special operations forces arrested Saeed al-Taie, a senior ISIL leader in the so-called 'Wilayat Baghdad', and seized weapons and ammunition found in his possession," federal police chief Lt. Gen. Raed Shaker Jawdat told Diyaruna.
Al-Taie was found Monday evening in a residential building with several fake IDs, wigs and clothes he used to move around clandestinely, he said.
