Coalition airstrikes destroy ISIL convoy in western Mosul

International coalition warplanes on Thursday (September 8th) targeted an "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) convoy en route to western Mosul, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said.

"Coalition airstrikes destroyed an ISIL convoy of several armoured vehicles and car bombs, including some carrying machine guns, en route from al-Semn village to al-Mahlabiya in western Mosul, where they were planning to target joint Iraqi forces," the ministry said in a statement.

At least 10 gunmen were killed in the airstrikes, the statement said.
