Iraqi military aircraft dropped thousands of leaflets on al-Sharqat and al-Qayyarah, advising civilians to keep away from "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) sites, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Friday (August 19th).
“The leaflets urge citizens to keep away from areas where ISIL elements are based as they have become targets for our pilots,” the ministry said in a statement.
“We urge citizens to co-operate with the liberating forces by complying with instructions on safe corridors and advancing towards our sectors, and having the necessary identification documents upon arrival at areas designated by the security forces,” the statement said.
