Iraqi forces have destroyed 30 "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) bases, killed several would-be suicide bombers, and seized large quantities of weapons and ammunition during an operation in northern Baghdad that began last week, the Baghdad Operations Command said Tuesday (August 9th).
Operation Biting Off Ground is still under way to clear these areas of any remaining pockets of ISIL fighters, the command said in a statement.
