International coalition destroys ISIS site in Kirkuk

Seven "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements were killed and several tunnels were destroyed in an international coalition airstrike in Kirkuk province, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Tuesday (October 8th).

In co-ordination with the coalition, a unit from the Counter-Terrorism Service carried out large-scale operations targeting ISIS terrorists in Daquq, the ministry said in a statement.

"Seven terrorists were killed, several ISIS underground tunnels and hideouts, as well as improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and explosive vests were destroyed in the operation," it added.

The operation is part of the security co-ordination between Iraqi forces and the international coalition, it said.
