Iraq's Security Media Cell announced on Tuesday (August 20th) that an "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) tunnel was destroyed and terrorists hiding inside it were killed in the Atshana mountain range in Ninawa province.
"A joint force from the 20th Division’s 66th and 22nd brigades clashed with terrorists in the Atshana mountain range," the Cell said in a statement.
"Six ISIS elements who tried to run away and hide inside a tunnel in the area were besieged" by the force, the statement said, noting that they were killed in subsequent airstrikes by international coalition warplanes that destroyed the tunnel.
