ISIS car bomb kills 5 in north-east Syria

A car bombing claimed by the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) on Wednesday (August 7th) killed five people, including three children, in a Kurdish-held town in north-east Syria, AFP reported.

The explosive-rigged vehicle detonated in the al-Hasakeh province town of al-Qahtaniya, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

According to Hoker Arafat, a security official, the bomb was detonated remotely in front of the town post office.

"Three children were killed in the bombing because it was very close to a primary school," he said.

ISIS claimed the attack on its Telegram channel.
