3 ISIS suspects arrested near Fallujah

Three wanted terror suspects likely involved in recent attacks against Iraqi security forces near Fallujah have been arrested, the Iraqi police in Anbar said Tuesday (July 9th).

"Security forces have arrested three men wanted for several terrorism-related charges for the account of the 'Islamic State of Iraq and Syria' (ISIS), including rocket attacks against security forces in 2016 and attacks using improvised explosive devices (IEDs)," Anbar police chief Maj. Gen. Hadi Kassar Erzaij told Diyaruna.

The suspects were arrested following a two-day operation in different areas near Fallujah, he said, noting that they had been using aliases and one of them had changed his physical appearance.

"They are suspected of being behind recent attacks targeting Iraqi security forces near Fallujah," he said, adding that local residents assisted in the operation.
