Regime bombardment kills 12 civilians in north-west Syria

Syrian regime bombardment on Sunday (July 7th) killed 12 civilians, including three children, in the country’s north-west, AFP reported.

Seven civilians, including a young girl, were killed in regime artillery fire and airstrikes in the north of Hama province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Four more, including a man and his young son, lost their lives when regime aircraft struck near the town of Maaret al-Numan in Idlib province, the Observatory said.

A third child was killed in regime rocket fire on farmland in the Idlib province village of Jadariya.

The Idlib region is largely controlled by extremist alliance Tahrir al-Sham.

On Friday and Saturday, strikes by the Syrian regime and Russia killed 20 civilians, including six children.

More than 540 civilians have been killed in regime and Russian airstrikes on north-west Syria since the end of April, according to the Observatory.

The UN says 25 health facilities in the region have been hit.
