Four "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) militants were killed inside a tunnel south of Mosul in an international coalition airstrike, Iraq's Joint Operations Command said on Monday (July 1st).
"Accurate intelligence has helped us locate a tunnel near Ain al-Jahsh village, south of Mosul, where ISIS militants were planning to execute various terrorist acts," command spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasul told Diyaruna.
"We co-ordinated with the international coalition to destroy the tunnel," he said.
"A coalition warplane carried out a precision strike, destroying the tunnel in full and killing four militants inside," he said, noting that the strike is part of the support provided by the international coalition to the Iraqi army.
