A four-day Iraq reconstruction conference kicked off Tuesday (June 11th) at the Baghdad International Fair with the participation of 11 countries, the Ministry of Trade said.
The Iraq Conference and Fair for construction materials, infrastructure, electricity and water was launched under the auspices of the ministries of trade, housing and reconstruction, municipalities and public works, and industry and minerals.
About 120 companies from 11 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Germany, Italy, India, China and Turkey are taking part in the event, the ministry said in a statement.
"The conference aims to showcase investment opportunities and projects in Iraq, as well as opportunities available for investors and businessmen," it said.
The "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) was ousted from Iraq in December 2017, but left a trail of destruction in its wake.
