Joint forces arrest 4 ISIS elements in Mosul

Iraqi forces on Thursday (May 23rd) arrested four "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements in eastern Mosul with the help of local residents, the Interior Ministry said.

The four men, who were apprehended in eastern Mosul's Teseen neighbourhood, had served as combatants in the so-called "soldiers’ diwan" while ISIS was in control of Mosul, the ministry said in a statement.

They were arrested by joint forces from the local police and Counter-Terrorism Service in Mosul in accordance with judicial arrest warrants, the ministry said.

The move followed continuous monitoring, with help from local residents, it said.
