Iraqi forces nab 3 ISIS elements in Anbar

Three "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements, including one involved in attacking military and security convoys, have been arrested in Anbar province, the Iraqi police said Monday (May 6th).

"Security forces arrested three ISIS elements in an operation carried out in al-Hawz and al-Jazeera, north and west of Ramadi," Anbar police chief Maj. Gen. Hadi Kassar Erzaij told Diyaruna.

"Two of the detained terrorists were reported by locals who confirmed they were involved in many heinous operations for the account of ISIS during its occupation of their areas, while the third was involved in attacking Iraqi forces’ convoys," he said.

Weapons and a CD containing information on several ISIS operations were seized in the operation, he said.
