Iraqi forces pursue ISIS remnants in Anbar's desert

Three "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements were arrested and a hideout was destroyed in two separate operations carried out by joint Iraqi forces in Anbar's desert, west of the provincial capital Ramadi, the Anbar Operations Command said Thursday (February 14th).

Iraqi forces destroyed an underground chamber featuring ventilation slits and a place to store foods, weapons and fuel in the area of Wadi al-Abyadh, commander Maj. Gen. Mahmoud al-Falahi told Diyaruna.

In a separate operation in the Kilo 160 area, "three terrorists, including a wanted element, were spotted by aircraft aboard a four-wheel-drive vehicle, and were pursued and arrested", he said.

"Iraqi forces are working to deprive ISIS remnants of any chance to catch their breath and regroup," al-Falahi said.
