Terror cell dismantled east of Ramadi

Five members of an "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) cell were arrested east of the Anbar provincial capital of Ramadi, the Anbar Operations Command said Wednesday (February 6th).

The operation, carried out by the Military Intelligence Unit of the Iraqi army's 10th Division, was made after several days of monitoring, commander Maj. Gen. Mahmoud al-Falahi told Diyaruna.

The cell "is specialised in planting improvised explosive devices (IEDs), sniper operations and assassinations in al-Khalediya, 20 kilometres east of Ramadi," he said.

"The terrorists had also taken part in the battles against security forces in several areas," he said.
