A campaign has kicked off to rebuild and rehabilitate hundreds of houses damaged during the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) group's control of Mosul's Old City, the chairman of Ninawa provincial council’s reconstruction committee, Muzahim al-Khayyat, said Monday (February 4th).
"The UN Development Programme (UNDP) has started rebuilding and repairing 359 houses in the Old City within a period of completion of no more than 90 days," al-Khayyat said in a statement.
The houses, to which displaced residents will be returned, are mostly located in al-Midan, al-Shahwan, al-Farouq al-Qadima, al-Farouq al-Jadida and al-Zinjili neighbourhoods, he said.
