Three "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) militants were killed in an airstrike on a hideout in Hamreen mountains, south-west of Kirkuk, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Thursday (January 17th).
Acting on accurate intelligence provided by the Federal Police Intelligence Units, Iraqi warplanes targeted three terrorists at a hideout in Hamreen mountains, near al-Mahkur village, ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasul said in a statement.
The units "confirmed that the strike was a success, as it killed the militants after monitoring the area of operation", he said.
