Iraqi airstrikes kill 40 ISIS elements in Syria's Deir Ezzor

The Iraqi military has conducted airstrikes against the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) in Syria’s Deir Ezzor province, killing 40 extremists, the Iraqi army announced Tuesday (November 20th).

Iraqi F-16 jets targeted an ISIS weapons depot in al-Susah in Deir Ezzor, leaving 10 ISIS elements dead, the Joint Operations Command said in a statement.

Another air raid destroyed a building housing 30 ISIS fighters in the town of al-Baghuz, the statement said, noting that weapons and rockets that were inside the building were also destroyed.

The operation resulted in the complete destruction of the ISIS targets, the statement added.
