The Iraqi government has disbursed more than 47 billion Iraqi dinars ($40 million) since the beginning of 2018 to citizens whose houses were damaged in terrorist operations, the government said Thursday (July 12th).

"The Finance Ministry’s Budget Department has advised the government about allocating compensations to citizens whose houses were damaged," a government statement said.

"The total value of compensations allocated since January 2nd till June 30th, amounted to 47.2 billion dinars," it said.

"More than 36 billion dinars ($30 million) were allocated to Ninawa, Salaheddine and Anbar provinces," the statement said.

"Most of this amount was distributed to citizens whose houses were damaged to help them rebuild their homes and resume a normal life in their areas," the statement said.
