Three hideouts and four tunnels containing various weapons belonging to the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) have been destroyed in a security operation in western Anbar, the Anbar Operations Command said Monday (June 18th).
"A force from the Iraqi army and Border Guards on Sunday morning kicked off a large-scale raid and search operation targeting al-Qaim Island and al-Rommana on the Syria border," commander Maj. Gen. Mahmoud al-Falahi told Diyaruna.
Seven secret tunnels used by the members of the criminal group in moving from one area to another have also been backfilled, he said.
