Iraqi forces implement Eid security plan
The Iraqi Ministry of Interior on Friday (June 15th) announced it started implementing a security plan for Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
"The ministry’s teams and specialised security cadres started implementing Eid [security] plan by deploying forces to resorts, tourist areas, public parks, and centres where families gather, like markets and malls," ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Diyaruna.
"The plan is aimed at securing citizens’ celebrations and preventing terrorist operations," he said.
Meanwhile, Amanat Baghdad said in a statement that all tourist and recreation facilities and parks are ready to start receiving families free of charge for Eid celebrations.
"Families will have free access to all tourist and recreation facilities in all areas [of the capital]," the statement said.
