Joint forces arrest 2 ISIS elements south of Mosul

A joint police and Counter-Terrorism Service force arrested two "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements in a town south of Mosul, Iraqi police in Ninawa said Monday (June 11th).

"A joint force carried out a pre-emptive operation targeting an uninhabited building in Hamam al-Alil," Ninawa police chief Brig. Gen. Hamad Namis al-Jubury told Diyaruna.

Two ISIS elements were arrested in the operation, during which security forces seized artillery, ammunition, medium and light weapons and foreign currency, he said.

Information provided by an ISIS element during interrogations led the police to the whereabouts of the two elements, who had been using fake IDs, he added.
