Iraqi forces arrest 3 in Baghdad on terror charges

Iraqi forces arrested three "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements in Baghdad during separate operations carried out Sunday night (May 13th) and Monday morning, the Interior Ministry said.

“Police, army and Counter-Terrorism Service forces carried out two operations over the past 24 hours in western and central Baghdad," ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Diyaruna.

They arrested three men wanted on terrorism-related charges, for belonging to ISIS and involvement in killing civilians and security personnel, he said.

“Various weapons, explosives and ammunition found in their possession also were seized,” he added.
